LONG LOST SHINE OF DRAVIDIAN MOVEMENT

FORGOTTEN ETHOS OF THE DRAVIDIAN POLITICS!

The tectonic political culture of Tamilnadu, sometimes mesmerizes the onlooker who just wants to peep into the highly pompous political world of the state. The beginning of Dravidian movement was to make people start respecting their own identity based on their culture and language disregarding the pseudo pride the religious identity provided. The movement promoted the unifying Tamil identity, it chose the Cultural supremacy as an harmless alternative as compared to the demonic caste & religious based identity that most of all independent political or social movements chose .But, all these highly innovative & new age promotion of idealistic thoughts became just another hypothesis whose genesis was itself murdered and became limited to the textbook enthusiasts of history and politics.

Today, the political scenario in the state seems to have reached a bleeding edge, and it is the people who are made to eat this bitter fruit due to the poisonous seeds that were sowed in the beginning of Dravidian politics itself by corrupt political masters. The ideals are long forgotten, although religion doesn’t play an important role in the states politics but it is the caste that has eaten up the share or vacuum left out by the latter. We can see the caste equations easily that seems to scream at a higher level of decibel during elections.

All those Evil elements that should have never been became part of TN politics became not only its part but became the Ultimate soul, the only sole source that has been fuelling the political rapport of the state for decades, till today. These elements are nothing but, the trio of cinema, mafia and Idolistic slavery. The cinema that became a medium to connect with people to make them aware of the movement was mishandled as a satanic tool for promoting egocentric self-vested interests of the iconic leaders of the political parties that mushroomed during the movement. The corporate mafia along with local goondas became the source of muscle power for their political parties which played with money as well as with the manpower to indirectly influence the relenting masses.

The most dangerous of all is this third pillar and that was idolising the political masters such that they ruled the state till they die. Choosing between the two Dravidian political groups seems irrelevant, be it DMK or ADMK , as the differences are based on individuals egos only ,as their ideologies forecasted only similar kind of  socialist & populist politics, it is like holding your hands on a double edged sword. Taking ADMK as an example, we saw the idol worshiping of Late Ms.Jayalalitha, where in name of discipline and moral code of conduct, MLAs were fostered since the beginning to act as slaves, bow down and fall in the feet of their leader. Dissent against the leader was considered as a ticket not only of getting kicked out of the party, but also as a pedestal of living a life full of miseries, then onwards.

The kind of terror and cheap political work environment that is seen in these Dravidian parties is quite unbearable. The party workers they call cadres are really sold out freaks. K.Kamaraj, once called one of the Dravidian party cadres as party of hoodlums, brokers, land mafia and the other a cinema crazy crowd, in Tamil known as “kuthadi kumbal”.The kind of a sycophancy that surrounds around any leader be it Amma, or anyone is quite absurd. After, the death of late CM Jayalalitha, the political deadlock the state is going through, hints towards the return of the same old political style of governance and dominance, where another woman, who was lost in the political be wilderness is willinglingly or forcefully seeming to be aspiring to become a “One Woman Army” kind of a persona and also seeking to be crowned as the new dictatorial queen of the TN politics.
Although, the battleground is not an easy one, as being a keen observer of the TN politics, there has been no history of aides of political leaders ever risen to be their political successors .

Once again, they are trying to fool the public by serving the same old wine in a new bottle, but it seems they are forgetting the fact, that the bottle they are trying to use is a faulty piece, one full of leaks. This is the sickening & pathetic political culture of the state that still breeds the caste based nepotism. Whether, the people loves or rejects this faulty piece is the ‘Time that holds the secret with subtle silence’.
