IS MODI, THE NEW AGE ONE MAN ARMY!
- Martin F. Raj
Surgical strikes a
never hyped word in media cropped up in such a manner after recent strikes done
by the Indian army as retaliation to the URI Attacks done by the Pakistan Army
along with the involvement of ISI. As, the chief of operations as well as the
Army General clarified that the surgical strikes are normal routine exercises
conducted by the Indian military in response to the external intruders who
engage in promoting illegal activities & instigate terrorism in the country
all together. But the current government used this strike as for their own
public relation campaigns already promoting it as their own achievement of the
government as well as the party.
To some extent the free hand given by the government along with the defence ministry to the Army to conduct strikes without any hesitation and consent could be appreciated, but the way the nationalist leaders like Yogi Adityanath and other communal fringe groups started thumping their chest as if they were directly involved in the strikes ,without the due credit to the soldiers in the borders guarding our nations was an utter shame.
Once again playing the populist agenda of goofing up the political scenario by hyping the matter was a clear plan of political masterminds of BJP, keeping in mind the elections due in 4 states coming up in 2017, especially the state of Uttar Pradesh. Using it as an achievement in their election manifesto was also a bit of an unethical practice promulgated by them. Opposition parties have already starting hitting the government on nail by creating ruckus in parliament, not letting the autumn session to work.
Instead the government could have promoted the so called little good policies introduced by government like JanDhan Yojna ,Swach-Bharat Abhiyan, Make in India ,Atal Pension Yojna and various other schemes, instead chose to play cheap politics on such a sensitive issue where 90% credit should have been given to the Army who give their life for the nation.
They should instead work by promoting some credible clean imaged local politician in UP for election as the CM candidate by solving the internal crisis due to infighting in the State BJP, instead of making the PM to indulge in the election campaign as projecting him as the face of UP Election as if he will leave the post of PM to become the CM of UP, if surprisingly by miracle BJP wins the assembly elections due in 2017.
