at Its Peak in Tamilnadu since J.Jayalalitha’s Demise!

GAME
OF THRONES: OPS VS VK SASIKALA
Sometimes, I wonder what kind of city is Chennai,
is it a super city whose citizens can withstand anything be it the devastating
floods, gigantic cyclones including untimely crass decisions like
demonetisation and of course Tall leader like J.Jayalalitha, the serving CMs death,
Although TN People from every nook of the state suffered from inevitable
problems that it has been facing but recently the biggest test of all times hit
Tamilnadu. The Sasikala factor which breached the all-time low that both Tamilnadu
and Indian politics may have ever witnessed, such a brazen shameless display of
power mongering was never displayed in recent times in TN’s Political history.
Here on one side, citizens together are putting up a brave fight while facing
the repurcussions of several policy decisions, facing law & order
situations and also at the same time unavoidable natural circumstances too. On
another side we are seeing a bunch of hooligans publically known as
Arasyialwadis, are proving to be no less than Thiveerawadis ,such a display of
political foolishness can be seen only in such regional outfits where power has
been concentrated, decentralised in hands of one individual who acted as a
dictator legally under the constitutional framework, and at same time was
prayed like a God. All this itself proves to be threatening the core ethos of
democracy itself.
Since decades political analysts have questioned the way the game of politics have been played in Tamilnadu, but once again the buried questions of them are rising like a phoenix from the ashes, But as the old saying goes evil historical memories too repeat itself, when Britain went through a period of famine, and nobody had anything to eat(bread),she(the queen) without any hesitation & sensitivity told the public that “if bread is not available so what, eat cake” with a despicable smile on her face, willingly not wanting to know the realities of the ground situations of her kingdom. This the the same kind of situation that has been going since the death of J.Jayalalitha, a revolutionary formidable women leader who won the 2016 assembly election of the state and was sworned in as the chief minister for the 6th time.
Political drama of emotions started overflowing since the day the CM was hospitalised due to her sudden mysterious ailing health, but the big hit came just when the whole state was slowly coming out from deep economic crisis or chaos which overhauled the whole economic structure run based on physical currency when it was unceremoniously scrapped by the centre causing hardship to masses of both the state as well as the nation followed by sudden demise of serving chief minister totally changed the overall political game ball altogether, again followed by Disastrous cyclone which also to some extent cracked up the ever strong will power of TN people.
Opportunistic Serpents, who were waiting only for such a scenario, started withering their feathers, with heightened arrogance. The coterie of chameleons that surrounded the late CM have started staking claim on the seats of power corridors of the state within just a few weeks after death of their only leader. Several mysteries and theories based on hearsay and mass public belief started making their way around towards the media perception like questioning the death of Jayalalitha, not letting others including her close relatives like Deepa Jayakumar ,her niece meet her.
Media trial went and is still going. But, it is the people who have been hit by the unstable political situation leading to loose administrative decisions and improper governance within the state. The recent jallikattu issue is preamble of how the situation was handled by state government. All these issues never seem to be an issue of concern to be solved by the those who live in the corridors of power who deliberately pretend as if their eyes are blind folded. First the PR campaign of VK Sasikala started in such a manner wherein she was promoted by those greedy idiots who hope to get something out of this crisis, without thinking anything about the political future of the state that they are trying to promote.
After all this, begin the image makeover of an individual in limelight itself which seemed as sarcastic humour that was being played on her part ,Although through the legal point she got herself elected as party general secretary while leaving the CM post to stay in the hands of Jayalalitha's trusted comrade O.PaneerSelvam, the Man Friday of ADMK. But, Soon as after the Jallikattu issue was over and OPS image as an administrator was hit, The Political Tussle started unfolding slowly ,OPS turned as a Game changer from just as a silent observer to Promoting the hidden voice ,The long silent dissent of the people .From Just a mute spectator he has turned the only hope to break the cinema tirade of Tamilnadu politics and at the same time political goondaism that has been promoted by the Mannargudi Mafia that had been operating from Poes Garden since jayalalitha reign begin.
The Game has just begin on one side, journalistic speculation is hinting towards a break up in ADMK ,and it is an open fight that has begun between two factions ,the Mannargudi Sasikala Group and Team OPS.The months old cold war has turned into a direct face to face fight of dominance. The political tactics and horsetrading has also begun.OPS who was forced to resign from the post of cm plotted the genesis of the master stroke that he played that night before which sasikala was elected by the cadre as legislative party leader, by sitting in front of late CMs Samadhi meditating for 40 minutes, after which he gave a long awaited explosive speech indirectly hinting and blasting over immoralistic moves played by the other faction. Even though Sasikala claims as she has support of the cadre and 130 MLAs of her party to stake claim to be Next Cm of the state but here we also see the shift of climate supporting OPS,As several mlas,10 MPs and several senior leaders of party ,including V.Maitreyan of Rajya Sabha ,PH Pandian the co-founder of ADMK along with the current education minister.M Pandiarajan seem to be extending their support.
The Governor Vidyasagar Rao has met both the faction and has heard their claims as well as their appeals. It is been presumed that the governor is taking appropriate caution before calling the Sasikala faction to form the government as she is also a co-accused in disproportionate case, whose verdict is going to be pronounced by the honourable supreme court in coming days, if accused by court she will be disqualified for atleast 6 years from contesting elections at the same time quashing her hopes of becoming CM, which could again bring a period of political instability in state.
Once K.kamaraj described the ADMK cadre as a cinema crazy crowd, in Tamil known as “Kuthadi Kumbal”,it has proved on several occasion that cadre is not a real cadre, but are bunch of paid employees as they seem so impotent enough as they are not even able to elect an undisputed leader who can crab a clean public perception. It is because of the mentality that has been fostered since decades to be ruled by a women, which is playing one of the major factors for not electing a leader who have been several times praised, upheld and trusted by their own leader late Ms.Jayalalitha due to egoistic jingoism going in the heads of the top establishment.
Also, the opposition leader MK Stalin states that the state has been going through a long period of political instability, which can have far more worse implications on the economic scenario of the state too, as several bureaucratic decisions are long pending, development works have stagnated along with unsolved issues like Farmer Suicide, draught situation & also drinking water issue, all needs urgent attention, as public is the one that is unnecessarily suffering the most. Death threats have begun starting on both sides, charges of forceful intimidation of MLAs by the Sasikala camp lodged in Kovathur resort, support of several celebrities Pro OPS Camp has also surfaced.
Also, Mukul Rohatgi, the Attorney General has advised the Governor a floor test to be conducted earlier by this week in the assembly. All lies on the court verdict whether if she gets convicted and her political career ends or if she is surprisingly vindicated her political reign over the state begins. And the same time she may choose to run the state from the prison through a proxy if she goes to jail, the threat of President Rule glooms over the state largely enough as also the central establishment seems to be involved in bidding its own political tactics.
Here, just as a mute spectator of all the political circus going on,the public is remaining silent, but is observing everything, hoping not to face any dooms day again, but if it does a soon to be seen political revolution can be expected same like in the lines of the recent “Jallikkatu Makal Movement”, as it is people who have suffered the most. It is in the hands of the people now, whether democracy prevails or the same old political bottleneck hangs over the neck of Tamilnadu once again.
