Being recognized in your field can make you more valuable in your existing job and also more marketable too. But, the dilemma here itself is to first tackle the challenges of being a fresher in the world of technology. To get hired as a fresher one needs to have a packed up arsenal and necessary skill sets, which many freshers are unable to attain just after passing collegeSuch challenges that fresher’s face in tech world is usually because of the lack of visibility, exposure and basic understanding of how corporate structure functions and what are the needs expected from each employee to be fulfilled to reach the unified goal as a unit for a sustainable growth in a competitive market.In this article, we shall be pinpointing the major challenges that freshers are facing and the amicable solutions towards it.

1|To get hired in a highly competitive market.

Businesses & corporates around the world had always been of the opinion that unemployment is just a myth; it’s always the lack of supply to the required demands of the ever evolving tech industry.
Freshers are indeed unaware of the industry demands at first place, they are unaware of the hiring practices in the industry and what all they need to present to market themselves aptly to a recruiter or a company they wish to work for.
The inherent strategy to build an attractive portfolio is what is needed to crack the nut in the initial phase.

2| Lack of training, guidance & proper mentoring.

Many companies do not prefer in training new comers in their company due to the fear of spending extensive amount of net profit on such training without any surety of human resource benefit in long term as many freshers have the habit of quitting the workplace within 6 months.
Many freshers are unable to find proper guidance from their senior peers & colleagues who can mentor them towards their expected career goals, instead of deviating them from their path.

Freshers do not understand the corporate structure and also lack focus towards their job, taking initiatives and being efficient, accepting procedures and following protocols.
Along with that flexibility is a major issue with which many freshers do suffer due to new environment.

Working with your fellow colleague is more significant than just focusing on your core work. Maintaining healthy relations at workplace as well as extended period of identity crisis can be found predominantly especially over role and position.
Freshers consider working as a team, adhering to protocols and following the set hierarchy restricting their freedom.

5|Initial hobnobbing from one job to the other due to expectation issues.

Be it independent local agencies or MNCs, the problem of attrition persists. Due to growth of multiple digital channels and platforms, freshers today have access to endless opportunities.

6 | Lack of required technical knowledge with respect to the organization’s demand & needs.

Companies do prefer nowadays an employee to be a master any one particular skill and at the same time jack of other preferred skills, as the tech world is constantly evolving at a much faster pace with the advent of disrupting technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, block chain ,AR & VR etc.
Fresher’s needs to constantly undergo shorter parallel short term courses to keep themselves updated which they find unable to do as they are not able to cope up with work stress.

7| Lack of communication skills & networking ability.
Communication skill is an asset that needs to be developed as fresher gets limited opportunities to put forth there ideas in tech world. Technical communication is a key aspect to get through once projects too.
Another major challenge for a fresher is networking in the professional environment which they extensively and lag behind. Networking through participating in various tech summits and events to understand the emerging trends is what every fresher must be focusing upon

Outlook

When recruiters look for freshers, they look for people with passion who want to build great things. They look for indicators that tell them that the fresher is committed to action and not just theory. The major focus is on the tech skills that one posses outside of their work.Also, whether they understand the current businesses nuances and challenges of the working environment and how quickly can they deploy tech skills to solve issues.
Along with the technical skill sets that one holds, communication pattern is one of the primary things that a recruiter looks at, for which way you connect, engage potential recruiters through your portfolio, presence in professional social media networks and participations in varied competitions and summits ends up as a primitive factors to get hired as a fresher in world.
In spite of these generic challenges that fresher’s face in the tech world, there are always newer opportunities that let you learn and helps you explore newer areas and accordingly these challenges will make one’s life worth living.
